Teen DBT Skills Group (8th - 12th Grade)
Join our Teen Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Group and embark on a journey of personal growth and emotional resilience. DBT equips teens with essential skills to navigate the challenges of adolescence, fostering emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance. In our supportive group setting, teens find a brave space to share experiences, learn from others, and practice DBT techniques together. Group therapy offers a sense of belonging and understanding as teens work towards building a life worth living. Join us to cultivate valuable skills, connect with peers, and embrace positive change on your path to a balanced and fulfilling life.
Each 6-week section focuses on one module of DBT. The upcoming group will focus on Distress Tolerance Skills. Distress tolerance is crucial to our ability to make it through big emotions and stressful experiences. These skills help us practice bearing discomfort in a helpful manner that creates space for us to regulate our emotions and make mindful decisions.
This group is best for teens 14 - 17 years old. Mature 8th graders and youthful seniors are also welcome!
Once you register, Emma Healy, LSW, will contact you to schedule your group therapy intake.
Dates: November 12th - December 17th
