A Kids Book About Pronouns

Some of the most important conversations between parents and children are also the most difficult. Whether you’re a kid or a grownup, it’s reasonable to feel worried about starting (or continuing) to talk about big topics like friendship, racism, identity, or mental health.

At Mind Chicago, we believe in fostering supportive, loving, and brave communication between parents and kids. And books are a great way to spark conversation while learning together! That’s why our co-founder, Lee Wells (she/her), and her spouse, Dr. Courtney Wells (they/them), created A Kids Book About Pronouns. This book encourages kids and grownups to learn, explore, and grow together! A Kids Book About Pronouns is the 2023 Chicago Reader Best of Chicago - Best Nonfiction Book Award. Author proceeds go to LGBTQ+ nonprofit organizations.

“Pronouns are some of the smallest words in length, yet they can have a profound impact on kids’ mental health and self-worth.”
