Welcome to our therapy group designed specifically for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) college students and college students from immigrant families. This group utilizes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), emphasizing interpersonal effectiveness in various aspects of college life.

The primary goal of this therapy group is to support those from immigrant family systems and BIPOC college students in navigating the unique challenges they may encounter during their college journey. We focus on enhancing interpersonal effectiveness in relationships with roommates, professors, and parents. Participants will learn practical strategies to communicate effectively, assert boundaries, and manage conflicts in these important relationships through structured discussions and skill-building exercises.

The therapy group meets weekly for 60 minutes and is facilitated by a licensed therapist, Jane Kim, who is experienced in working with BIPOC, immigrant, and 2SLGBTQ+ populations. Sessions include a combination of psychoeducation, group discussions, experiential exercises, and mindfulness practices adapted from ACT to enhance emotional awareness and resilience.

Dates: Every Wednesday at 5p from September 11th, 2024-December 18th, 2024

This program requires a non-refundable $280 deposit which includes the intake and the first two therapy sessions. After that, you will be charged the weekly $85 fee for group therapy sessions.

Payments and Refunds

Payments are non-refundable and non-transferable to future groups. If you wish to withdraw and provide notice more than 72 hours before a group begins, you will be eligible for a partial refund (full payment minus intake fee).
