Learning & Dyslexia
Impacts kids of all ages
Learning disorders, or learning disabilities, fall into the bigger category of neurodevelopmental disorders. The three learning disorders are related to the big 3 academic skills - reading (dyslexia), math (dyscalculia), writing (sometimes called dysgraphia). It can be difficult to know if your child’s trouble in school is due to a learning problem or something else.
That’s where neuropsychological testing comes in. A neuropsychological evaluation (sometimes called psychological or psychoeducational evaluation) takes a full picture of your child’s thinking and learning profile to figure out if they have a neurodevelopmental disorder and, if so, what steps to take to help them thrive.
Unfortunately, trouble learning can lead to worry, isolation, and emotional distress. When that happens, you want to find treatment that works for your child and your family.
