I’m Julie, and I can’t wait to meet you! A little about myself… I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from Arizona State University, specializing in Advanced Direct Practice with Children, Youth, and Families. Over the years, I’ve provided evidence-based, trauma-informed therapy in outpatient, residential, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization settings. In fact, I was a founding member and primary therapist of Chicago's largest trauma partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. Through rich training and years of experience, I’ve developed a relatable, compassionate practice that helps youth and young adults make change without feeling “parented,” and parents feel empowered and supported. I support my clients in managing the impacts of trauma(s), anxiety, and mood disorders - and more importantly, we work together to help them reconnect to what is meaningful to them.
I specialize in:
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Now to the fun stuff… Like many folks at Mind, I love dogs and am a dedicated dog owner. It’s true; my dog is a pampered pup! I’m also a Colorado native who loves all things outdoors. Did you know I hiked Mount Kilimanjaro? Being in nature (even just standing on your porch) is an important part of healing and wellness. Most of all, I love family time with my daughter and husband.
