Hi, I’m Emma, and I’m looking forward to meeting you! Here’s a bit about me… I received a Bachelor’s in psychology and a Master’s in education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I also completed a Master's in social work from the University of Illinois Chicago. I love learning so much that I spent an additional year as a Postgraduate Advanced CBT Fellow to expand my knowledge of evidence-based approaches. Since then, I’ve provided high-quality, trauma-informed therapy for children, adolescents, and families in outpatient settings. With years of training and experience, I’ve found that the best evidence-based approaches center around showing up, first and foremost, as a human in the therapy space. So expect a healthy dose of humor (more chuckles, less knock-knock jokes), warmth (think kindness and compassion), and authenticity at every session. Plus, I come prepared with a treasure trove of knowledge in contextually-based behavioral therapies to help kids and families make meaningful changes and build stronger relationships.
My primary therapeutic approaches include:
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and anxiety disorders - Trained through the University of Pennsylvania
Inference-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) for OCD
Outside the therapy office, I love to practice yoga, read for fun (ask me about my favorite YA sci-fi recs!), and spend time outdoors with my sweet dog.
Serving Illinois residents.
